The Lab Tech will assist the HSPS and PARM Program's staff in the development, construction, execution and recycling of various fire-based and paramedic science lab activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- This job features indoor and outdoor work, some moderate lifting, and the use of various hand and power tools as needed.
- Computer knowledge is also necessary to assist instructors and students as needed.
- Under general supervision, supervises and assists students in the Fire Science program.
- Assists in the delivery of program and course outlines, goals and objectives;
- Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives
- Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area; work schedule and instructional location will be coordinated through the Program
- Normal working hours are M-F, 0800-1700

80% - Burn Cell and Lab Activities - (Essential) or 80% - EMT Lab Activities (Essential)
5% - Burn Day Activities - (Essential) or 5% - EMT Skills Day Activities (Essential)
15% - Equipment Maintenance - (Marginal)

Education and Experience:
- Must have either IDHS Fire 1 & Fire 2, or NREMT certification, or all three.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Experience in Canvas and MS Office helpful.
