Position Summary:
The work contributes to an EEG-hyper scanning study focusing on conversational synchrony. The RA must work in Praat speech analysis software to carefully align speech recordings with transcriptions to facilitate analysis of the convergence of speech and neural responses as strangers converse, and to organize the data in MS excel. Other related organizational tasks may be required.
Qualifications:
The candidate must have completed bachelor’s level courses in linguistics (e.g., phonetics, speech science) and direct knowledge and experience using Praat software for speech analysis. The candidate must be a native English speaker as the research materials require listening and transcription of English sentences. The RA must have proficiency with MS Excel.
Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level # 4 on a scale of 0-4
