Position Summary
Under supervision of the Chief Enrollment Officer, this counselor will serve as a primary territorial manager for new student recruitment in the Triangle area (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill), eastern North Carolina, and southern Virginia (Roanoke, Charlottesville, Richmond, and Virginia Beach).
1. Recruit and enroll prospective students from assigned geographic region
a. Read and evaluate Applications for Admission
b. Travel to high schools and college fairs and interview prospective students
from regional territory
c. Perform interviews, phone calls, and primary counseling for students and families from regional territory
d. Build relationships with high school and independent counselors in assigned regional territory
e. Conduct information sessions and interviews for campus visitors on days as assigned by the Office of Admission
f. Travel extensively (approx 6-8 weeks in Fall) for Admission-related events
in geographic territory. Must be comfortable working and traveling independently with, at times, little supervision
g. Attend all open houses, unless given authorization by Chief Enrollment Officer,
over the course of the recruitment year
2. Submit weekly activity report Chief Enrollment Officer for discussion in weekly one-on-one to be collected and tracked through admission cycle
3. Other duties as assigned
