Course Description:
Basic concepts of educational research for the student who is likely to be a regular consumer of research but only an occasional generator of research and will be able to use common tools of information retrieval.

Teaching Qualification Requirements:
Education:
- Master’s or PhD in Educational Psychology or equivalent
Experience required:
- Familiarity with EDPE 575 Statistics for Practitioners or equivalent
- Experience in a variety of educational settings
- Knowledge of the Master of Education in Education Psychology Concentrations offered by the Department
- Expertise in a variety of types of research methodologies
- Knowledge of the application of educational and psychological theories to authentic settings
- Evidence of research in educational psychology, human development or related field
Other requirements:
- If the applicant has taught this course exactly once previously, she/he must have had satisfactory teaching evaluations in this course that meet the Department’s expectations. This requirement does not apply to applicants who have taught the course at least twice
- If the applicant has not taught this course previously, but has taught in the hiring unit previously, she/he must have had satisfactory teaching evaluations that meet the Department’s expectations
- Adherence to evolving program requirements concerning course content and program-developed competencies; course content and references must reflect the most current advances in the field
Additional Information:
Effective dates of appointment are August 20, 2025 to December 26, 2025. Course dates are August 27, 2025 to December 3, 2025. This course will be offered in-person on campus at McGill.
