Theories and developments in the science of human development within the context of research and practice and the evolution of the field at large.

Teaching Qualification Requirements:
Degree(s) required:
- Has completed a PhD degree or will be completing their Comprehensive Exam prior to the start of the course they wish to teach in Educational Psychology, Human Development, Applied Psychology, Child Development, or equivalent
Experience required:
- Knowledge of theories and developments in the science of human development within the context of research and practice
- Knowledge of recent developments of specific topics in human development
- Experience in college/university teaching or professional experience in this subject
- Knowledge of writing in psychology research and the process of comprehensive examination in the Human Development Program
- Has taught and/or completed this course or equivalent successfully
Other requirements:
- If the applicant has taught this course exactly once previously, she/he must have had satisfactory teaching evaluations in this course that meet the Department’s expectations. This requirement does not apply to applicants who have taught the course at least twice
- If the applicant has not taught this course previously, but has taught in the hiring unit previously, she/he must have had satisfactory teaching evaluations that meet the Department’s expectations
- Adherence to evolving program requirements concerning course content and program-developed competencies; course content and references must reflect the most current advances in the field
Additional Information:
Effective dates of appointment are August 20, 2025 to December 26, 2025. Course dates are August 27, 2025 to December 3, 2025. This course will be offered in-person on campus at McGill.
