Hiring Range: $70,500 to $88,150; salary commensurate with relevant experience.
The anticipated start timeframe for this role is late June/early July.
Manage the administrative functioning, daily operations and graduate program within the Chemistry Department. Oversee all operational and programmatic functions of the department, provide high-level support to the chairperson and assistant chairperson, serve as department liaison with various University Departments and provide supervision to two Administrative Assistants. Specific responsibilities include:
- Working with the Department Chairperson to conduct faculty searches, prepare promotion and tenure cases, plan faculty and department committee meetings.
- Serve as the Department’s HR administrator, working with the Dean’s Office, for all staff.
- Serve as departmental liaison to University administrative offices such as Student Services and the Morrissey College Dean's office.
- Provide student services to approximately 110-125 graduate students which including tracking academic progress from matriculation to graduation, and managing and audit the awarding of tuition remission credits and Teaching Assistants.
Requirements- Bachelor’s Degree required; master’s degree desired.
- Minimum of five years experience in a management position plus previous supervisory experience required. Experience in higher education desired.
- Special events may require occasional weekend and/or evening hours.
