Job DescriptionPostdoctoral Research Fellow Position in Multimodal Foundation Models and Biomedical AI
FTE Range $65,000 - $74,665 based on experience
The labs of Dr. Yuan and Dr. Wei in the Department of Computer Science at Boston College are seeking highly motivated postdoctoral fellows to join an interdisciplinary team advancing the frontiers of biomedical image analysis. This position focuses on developing multimodal foundation models and agentic systems. Successful candidates will apply these models to analyze complex biomedical imaging datasets, contributing to cutting-edge research at the intersection of artificial intelligence and life sciences.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement new methods for the analysis of biomedical images, with a focus on brain images
- Collaborate with researchers in neuroscience, clinicians, and other relevant
departments to apply image analysis methods to relevant problems - Publish research findings in high-impact journals and present at conferences
- Mentor junior research staff, graduate students, and undergraduate students
- Participate in grant writing and project management activities
This is a full-time, one-year appointment with a competitive salary and benefits package.

- Ph.D. in computer science/engineering or a related field
- Strong background in multimodal foundation models and agentic systems and demonstrated capability to produce workable solutions from theoretical formulations
- Substantial publication history in top computer vision/machine learning venues (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICML, etc.)
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
