Description
This position coordinates implementing accommodations for students registered with Disability Services including but not limited to note-taking and classroom accommodations, setting up equipment for use during testing, working with faculty and staff to ensure the security of exams, receiving and delivering exams, and proctoring of exams. This position also involves maintaining the accommodated exam schedule and assisting students with scheduling their exams and requesting accommodations.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for face-to-face meetings with students to help with requesting accommodations and scheduling exams.
- Maintain the calendar/schedule for exams in the testing room/private rooms and assign proctors for the scheduled exams.
- Log and file incoming exams and maintain security.
- Confirm all student exam requests are completed accurately before being processed and approved.
- Review all student exam requests and approve if completed as per policies and procedures.
- Proctor a variety of test experiences for students both in person and/or via camera as needed.
- Enforce policies and procedures of Disability Services and Life University, maintain integrity of the testing environment, and ensure that test security standards are upheld.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all testing materials, test logs, and other test documents.
- Make sure all equipment and testing materials are prepared and ready for use prior to exam start time
- Follow-up and work with faculty to have the information/materials to proctor exams and implement accommodations in a timely manner.
- Provide accommodations for students who have need for unique accommodations, including but not limited to reading tests, scribing tests, or providing a specific testing atmosphere.
- Address testing issues that arise with Supervisor immediately to come to a quick resolution
- Ensures tests are delivered, picked-up, returned and signed-off in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain record of students requesting notes.
- Maintain record of note-takers schedules, notes submitted, and payment sheet.
- Match note-takers with classes in which notes are needed
- Deliver recorders to faculty and assist with the use of the recorders for note-taking and testing purposes.
- Implement classroom accommodations such as but not limited to preferential seating, formatting materials, and furniture requests.
- Coordinate and help support all disability functions and staffing and cover the front desk as needed.
- Assist with ongoing statistics for department.
- Monitor Disability Services email address throughout the day and forward emails to appropriate staff.
- Open and close the testing environment as needed.
- Must be available to work flexible hours between 6:30 am – 6:00 pm Monday through Friday based on departmental needs.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities
- Interact with students, faculty, and staff.
- Answer the telephone and take messages accurately.
- Maintain attendance rosters for testing room.
- Utilizes media equipment for departmental functions.
- Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or requested by Supervisor.

Qualifications
Education, Training and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Two (2) years of office experience.

- Previous experience working in Disability Services

Physical Demands
- Nature of work requires an ability to operate standard business office equipment.
- Requires ability to communicate and exchange information, collect, compile and prepare work documents, set-up and maintain work files.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to walk and navigate staircases.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
