Course Description: Competency-based discipline skills and methods of classroom management, emphasizing the relationship between theory and practice; the rationale for various approaches to classroom management; strategies for developing instruction that focus attention and reduce off-task behaviour.
This course is not taught electronically or online.

Teaching Qualification Requirements (TQRs):
Education
Master’s degree (in exceptional circumstances applicants without a Master’s degree but with significant research or professional experience related to the course content may be considered)
Teaching degree or equivalent.
Experience
Experience teaching in elementary/secondaryschools.
Experience teaching as a specialist (e.g. music, TESL) in elementary/secondary schools for section reserved for B.Ed. TESL, B.Ed. Music students.
Expert knowledge of course content.
Knowledge of the Quebec Education Program (QEP).
Familiarity with the 13 Professional Competencies specified by the Ministère de l’Éducation.
Experience teaching in the Quebec elementary/secondary school system an asset.
Previous successful experience teaching similar course(s) to pre-service teachers an asset.
Familiarity with myCourses and Zoom or similar online course and meeting platforms an asset.
