Position SummaryPublic Safety Aide is a high visibility, primarily outdoor patrol position on the UCLA campus. PSAs provide uniformed bike patrol of the UCLA campus as visible security deterrents to crime, and assist UCPD Police Officers in many of their functions.

Qualifications2 years of recent work experience involving heavy public contact/customer service. Public contact experience should include assisting and providing information to a variety of individuals. (Required)
Ability to complete a bicycle training course and be able to ride a bicycle as needed. (Required)
Proficiency in general office, productivity, and computer systems, including Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook). (Required)
Skill in interacting diplomatically with the public in a high volume, diverse, continuous public contact setting. (Required)
Ability to work a varied schedule, including weekends, evenings, holidays, on call, overtime and varying shifts, as required. (Required)
Ability to assess a problematic or emergency situation and plan/execute an appropriate solution in a quick manner. (Required)
Ability to attend to detail and follow through on all assigned duties and tasks to completion in a proscribed period of time. (Required)
