About the Role:
This position provides support primarily to the Indianapolis campus by answering the phone, greeting and assisting students, staff, and visitors, addressing questions, referring them to appropriate information sources, and helping students find information on the Ivy Tech and MyIvy websites.
The position, working under minimal supervision, serves as the first point of contact to address day-to-day building operations during the shift by identifying and reporting potential problems that may require resolution. The Office Services Assistant also functions to assist faculty and staff with troubleshooting any issues that may arise, such as submitting facility or IT help desk tickets, finding a workaround solution to meet the immediate need of students or staff, or escalating concerns to building leadership.
The position requires the staff member to be a continuous learner, understanding key information about Ivy Tech Community College and its Services. As assigned, the staff member completes projects to aid in the effective operation of the department. Includes general office tasks involving frequent public contact and frequent computer use.

Key Responsibilities:
- Greet visitors, students, faculty/staff and community members as the first point of contact.
- Respond to requests for information as the first point of contact via phone call or walk-in needs.
- Assist with wayfinding and facility or service needs, including escalation to proper staff member and other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate a strong customer service and/or student advocacy through a positive attitude of approachability, adaptability, strong problem-solving and desire to identify and support student success.
- Adjustment of hours including evening and/or weekend work may be required.
- Perform assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, techniques, and standards in a safe manner and with minimal supervision.

Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Computer proficiency
