The Judge Coordinator for National History Day is a role with huge responsibilities supporting the State Coordinator for National History Day in New Hampshire, in the History and Social Studies Education Program at Plymouth State University. The Judge Coordinator needs to be a collaborative leader in New Hampshire and work with stakeholders to recruit and train judges to insure both fairness in the competition and scholarly oversight on both the judging and student ends of the program. The State Competition takes place the first week of April and will require considerable hours that week. After the competition, the Judge Coordinator will plan and facilitating programing at the national level during the National Competition in Washington, DC the second week of June.
The ideal candidate has experience with National History Day in New Hampshire, has extensive judging experience with National History Day, and has prior state-level leadership at the National History Day competition. The candidate should work well with stakeholders, demonstrate ethical and fair practices, and have a passion for working with young people.

Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong email communication skills
Strong presentation skills for judge training
Mediation between judges and other stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in History
Prior experience with National History Day in New Hampshire
Prior experience leading travel experiences for students to Washington, DC for the National History competition
