Position Summary:
Hiring Salary Range: $21.28 to $23.40 per hour depending on qualifications.
Assists, counsels and instructs College students and alumni in all matters relating to employment. Develops job opportunities and contacts for students and alumni with employers in Hillsborough County. Oversees and directs the operation and budget of the Plant City Career Planning and Placement Center. Job Duties:
• Lead students through the process planning and job search strategy.
• Serve as liaison with members of the business community.
• Serve as liaison and campus articulation representation with the public school system, colleges and universities.
• Coordinate campus career fairs.
• Assure proper expenditure of available funds.
• Maintain current literature and software.
• Coordinate advertisement of job opportunities.
• Develop job opportunities for students for students by maintaining contact with employers throughout Hillsborough County.
• Assist students in all matters relating to employment to include interest and skill assessments, resume writing, and interviewing skills.
• Supervise all responsibilities of the Career Planning and Placement Center.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Duties percentages:
Oversees and coordinates the operation of and maintains the operating budget for the Career Planning and Placement Center. (20%)
Develops job opportunities and contacts for students and alumni with employers in Hillsborough County. (15%)
Coordinates the placement of student assistants and Federal Work Study students to include resume preparation, interviewing and processing of related paperwork. (15%)
Interviews, counsels and instructs students and alumni in all matters relating to employment, e.g. resume preparation and interviewing skills. (15%)
Coordinates and places community service workers at all campuses. (5%)
Coordinates all aspects of campus job and career fairs. (5%)
Serves as transfer information resource for students for literature, notification of transfer events and activities and transfer representative visits to campus. (5%)
Leads students through process of career assessment strategies by planning and scheduling activities, workshops, speakers, classroom presentations to impact degree completion, retention and student success. (20%)
Minimum Qualifications:
The position requires at least a Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of prior-related work experience. The position requires at least a High School diploma or GED equivalent if substituting experience for education.
