• Salary Package: From the pro-rata equivalent of $99,161 p.a (HEW 6) plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading
• Appointment Type: Part-time (28 hours per week), continuing position
• Location: Macquarie University, Wallumattagal Campus (North Ryde)
The Role
In this role, you will be an integral part of a dynamic Advisor team to provide advice, guidance, and pastoral care to our domestic and international student cohorts. You will use your experience to positively engage with the student cohort and guide them to success.
Reporting to the Student Services Team Leader, you will drive the effective delivery and continuous improvement of student support within the College. You will be an integral part of the on-campus student experience, delivering a high level of in-person service to students studying in an intensive delivery model consisting of 5 Terms or 9 Blocks.
About You
We are looking for a capable and enthusiastic Advisor with a passion for student success and support, and who can work collaboratively with both professional and teaching teams. As the College has two overlapping sets of study periods, operating both 5 ‘Terms’ and 9 ‘Blocks’ each year, you will be someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and loves variety in their day-to-day working life.
Duties include:
Provide advice and guidance to both domestic and international students in our wide portfolio of pathway courses and English Language Programs.
Conduct support interventions for students with academic progression concerns.
Respond to student welfare and academic concerns raised by College staff as required.
Participate in and support the implementation of College events, such as Orientation or support workshops.
Assess and process applications relating to student enrolment, such as Reduced Study Load or Course Transfer requests.
Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Contribute to the development, documentation, implementation, review and continuous improvement of matters in area of responsibility.
Perform any other duties as required and appropriate for this classification.
Comply with relevant professional standards, codes of ethics and EEO and WHS regulations.

Strong experience with providing support and guidance to both Domestic and International students, with a focus on welfare.
Knowledge of the Australian Higher Education Sector, Foundation Programs and ELICOS sectors, and the regulatory environment.
Demonstrated organisational and time management skills to efficiently handle a high-volume workload in a fast-paced, complex environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Demonstrated experience in working effectively with various stakeholders to continuously improve and provide a high level of service to students.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in communicating complex and sensitive information to key stakeholders and to those for whom English is not their primary language.
Strong computer skills including the understanding of student management systems and Microsoft Office suite of products.
