Operate shuttle services for Plymouth State University.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Operate Shuttles to transport passengers over established routes according to time schedule.
- Perform vehicle pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections.
- Report hazardous road or travel conditions via two-way radio to dispatcher, as necessary.
- Fuel and clean vehicle upon completion of shift, as required.
- May be required to assist passengers in use of wheelchair lift and equipment, or in emergency situations by applying first aid.
- Perform related duties, as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to pass DOT drug & alcohol testing under all required categories (pre-placement, random, suspicion, post-accident, return to duty, and follow- up)
Required Licenses & Certifications:
- Valid operator’s license
- Ability to pass and maintain a valid DOT physical medical card
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of state laws governing the operation of motor vehicles
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with the dispatcher and public
- Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities of this position
Other Requirements:
- Ability to perform vehicle pre-trip inspections outdoors in all types of weather; rain, snow, hot & cold weather
