Description:
The Senior/Prospect Development Analyst is a member of
the team within University Advancement that ensures the optimal distribution of
prospective donors to fundraiser portfolios and provides information and
insights required to manage our relationship with these constituents. The
Analyst will join a team of professionals who bring diverse skills and
experiences in prospect research, relationship management, and data analysis to
deliver best-in-class internal consulting to the entire advancement organization.
This position may work closely with one or several teams of frontline
fundraisers.
Primary duties:
- Provide detailed, written research on constituents.
- Monitor a variety of sources, including relevant websites, government documents, newspapers, periodicals, screening data, and leads from development officers to identify new prospective donors.
Evaluate prospective donors’ capacity to give to Boston College. - Assist in the maintenance of fundraiser portfolios and discovery pools, including through the use of batch upload tools.
- Partner with new development officers to develop and establish new portfolios, and transition portfolios following development staffing changes.
- Proofread other prospect development team members’ work for clarity and accuracy.
- Help foster a process-oriented mindset on the prospect development. This may include documenting business processes and centralizing resources.
- Analyze data to help drive prospect discovery and prioritize the top prospective donors for qualification by development staff.
- Analyze fundraiser portfolio activity to evaluate the success of outreach strategy.
- Using CRM querying tools, create lists on an ad-hoc basis as requested by prospect development team members or fundraising partners.
- Utilize other CRM tools to increase the efficiency of the prospect development team’s work.

below with the final salary based on various factors, including the candidate’s
qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and internal equity
considerations.
Prospect Development Analyst level 1 (1-3 years’ experience): $59,400 - $74,250
Prospect Development Analyst level 2 (3-5 years’ experience): $65,560 - $81,950
Senior Prospect Development Analyst (5+ years’ experience): $72,480 - $90,600
RequirementsThis position requires a Bachelor’s degree and 1-3
years of related professional experience for the first level Analyst, 3-5 years
of related professional experience for the second level Analyst, and for the
Senior level, 5+ years of related professional experience.
Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal,
and work planning skills are required. An ability to interpret, analyze, and
summarize biographical and financial data; a sense of curiosity; and an ability
to work as a part of a cohesive team are also key prerequisites. Skills with
data and databases is a plus. This position involves work with highly
confidential information where complete discretion is required. Must be highly
motivated and dedicated to the goals of advancing higher education and have an
appreciation for Jesuit Catholic education and the goals and values of Boston
