Lead curriculum design, teaching, and academic staff coordination at Macquarie University College including the development of a new Diploma of Health Sciences launching in 2026.
•Salary Package: $122,606 - $127,241 p.a., plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading
•Appointment Type: Full-Time (35 hours per week), continuing appointment
•Location: Macquarie University, Wallumattagal Campus (North Ryde)
THE ROLE
The Macquarie University College is seeking to appoint a highly experienced and organised Senior Teacher to provide leadership in the areas of teaching delivery, assessment and curriculum development. The Senior Teacher will also be actively involved in the development of units for the College’s new Diploma of Health Sciences, launching in 2026.
Reporting to the Education Manager and collaborating with other staff members of the College, the Senior Teacher will plan and coordinate the delivery of multiple units in each study period, manage teachers, engage in quality assurance, enhancement and improvement in assessment and curriculum, and teach in their area of expertise when required. This role will provide leadership in education, curriculum and assessment design and technology-enhanced learning to ensure continuous curriculum innovation and best practice across the College’s curriculum product suite relevant to their discipline, as well as fostering positive relationships with internal stakeholders and communities of practice across the University.

Key accountabilities
Provide leadership in the areas of learning and teaching at the College,
Under the direction of the Associate Director and Education Managers, undertake benchmarking activities related to curriculum innovation, employability in the curriculum and technology-enhanced learning to ensure best practice across the College’s curriculum product suite,
Coordinate the delivery of multiple College units in each study period, including but not limited to the area of Health Sciences, and manage teaching teams effectively with the goal of student success and engagement in mind,
Perform training needs analysis and support the organisation, facilitation and evaluation of professional development events for College staff in the areas of curriculum design, learning innovation, work-integrated learning, and technology-enhanced learning,
Enable the review, development, and implementation of changes to educational products at the College, including units, programs and courses,
Build and manage relationships with relevant stakeholders across the College and University,
Teach units within their area(s) of expertise when required,
Promote Academic Integrity among the College students and staff,
Contribute to the effective operations of the Macquarie Learning Technologies Platform (iLearn) as required,
Comply with relevant professional standards and codes of ethics and EEO and WHS regulations, and
Engage professionally with colleagues and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
ABOUT YOU
You will have postgraduate qualifications and extensive teaching experience at higher education level in the relevant discipline. You will also have exceptional knowledge of the latest developments in learning principles including online and blended learning pedagogies and proven expertise in curriculum and assessment design. Your people and time management skills, ability to work in a fast paced and vibrant environment and a “Students First” mindset will ensure your success in this role.

Postgraduate qualifications in the field of Health Sciences. Additional qualifications in Teaching and/or Education would be advantageous.
Extensive teaching experience in Health-related units across a range of contexts within the tertiary sector, especially in the pathway context, including experience teaching students from a non-English speaking background.
Demonstrated experience in the provision of support, leadership and mentoring to teaching staff and managing teaching teams to ensure high-quality delivery of learning and teaching in multiple units.
Demonstrated experience in the review and development of the curriculum, materials and resources, assessments and feedback, related quality assurance and management of results with applied knowledge of current adult learning principles.
Demonstrated working knowledge of institutional LMS, with evidence of experience of best practices in online learning space design and management.
Time management and organisational skills, and experience coordinating and delivering on competing deadlines.
Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with colleagues in a variety of teaching, operations, and administrative teams, as well as with students.
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications.
