An exciting role has become available in the School of Engineering at Macquarie University. We are seeking a qualified Postdoctoral Research Associate to join a team with an international reputation for producing high quality industrially-relevant research in the area of advanced photovoltaics.
We are looking for a passionate researcher with a strong track record of optical design, simulation and characterisation, as well as good knowledge of broader solar cell production and characterisation processes.
The successful candidate will work on an established project funded by the Australian Research Council (Linkage) and our industry partner, ClearVue Technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and optimisation of light-management techniques for large-area highly-efficient luminescent solar concentrator (LSC) based solar windows.
The role will include:
Development of optimised light management strategies using scalable fabrication technologies
Comprehensive optical modelling and characterisation
Optimisation of PV collector cell design

Essential
A PhD in materials science, photovoltaics, photonics or a closely related discipline
Expertise in optical modelling using finite element and ray tracing techniques Experience with optical and electrical characterisation
Experience with fabrication of light management structures (e.g. AR coatings, Bragg reflectors, photonics crystals)
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills Commitment to teamwork and collaborative work
Ability to implement required health and safety policies and procedures
Experience with solar cell fabrication
Experience with building integrated photovoltaic technologies A track record of working with industry
