Salary Package: From $108,391 per annum (HEW 7)+ 17% superannuation + annual leave loading

The Role
The Faculty of Arts at Macquarie University is seeking to appoint two highly organised and experienced Learning Designers to provide operational teaching and learning support, training, and development to academic and professional staff across a wide range of discipline areas, ensuring high-quality student learning experiences and graduate outcomes.
Reporting to the Learning Design and Production Lead, you will work closely with colleagues in the Learning Design and Production Team, to provide specialist advice and support in the review, development, and implementation of educational products in the Faculty—including short courses and microcredentials.
In this role, you will:
Develop tailored educational design and technology-enhanced learning solutions to support blended, face-to-face, and online teaching and learning;
Support continuous curriculum innovation and the integration of best practices across the Faculty’s curriculum product suite;
Create high-quality digital artefacts such as videos, animations, and graphics to enhance curriculum delivery;
Design and deliver professional development programs for academic and professional staff, underpinned by training needs analysis and evaluation;
Contribute to communities of practice and foster strong relationships with academic and professional stakeholders across the Faculty and University;
Provide operational support, advice, and coaching to staff in the effective use of learning technologies, including Macquarie’sMoodle-based Learning Management System (LMS);
Engage in benchmarking activities to inform curriculum renewal, employability outcomes, and technology-enhanced learning strategies;and
Collaborate with relevant central teams to deliver consistent, high-quality learning experiences across the University.

About You
You will have an exceptional knowledge of adult learning principles, including online and blended learning pedagogies, and proven expertise in the design, preparation, and implementation of education programs using web-based platforms and/or content management systems. Your knowledge of project management principles and methodologies, learning management systems (e.g., Moodle), and demonstrated experience working with a wide range of web-based applications relevant to an educational environment will ensure your success in this role.

Key Selection Criteria
- Tertiary qualification (including post-graduate) in learning technologies, education, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current adult learning principles, including online and blended learning pedagogies.
- Proven experience in the design, preparation, and implementation of education programs using web-based platforms and/or content management systems.
- Working knowledge of Macquarie’s institutional Learning Management System (i.e., Moodle), with experience in other LMS platforms (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, or similar) and a wide range of educational web-based applications and tools.
- Strong time management and organisational skills, with a demonstrated ability to coordinate tasks and deliver outcomes within competing deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of academic and professional stakeholders.
- Demonstrated contribution to a service-oriented culture that values collaboration, continuous improvement, and adaptability.
