THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity for a highly qualified Postdoctoral Research Fellow exists in the School of Natural Sciences at Macquarie University. We are seeking a suitable qualified postdoctoral research fellow to join a team with an international reputation for producing high quality research outcomes in nanobiotechnology, biosensors, extracellular vesicles and in vitro cancer diagnosis. You are expected to:
Be part of an innovative project to develop a new nanoplatform for better understanding of molecular features of breast cancer derived from small extracellular vesicles in patient samples;
Publish original and innovative results in refereed journals;
Present research at national/international conferences;
Work in a supportive, collegiate team environment;
Build your skills in biomedical engineering, microfabrication, microfluidics, cell biology, and nanomaterials.

The School of Natural Sciences at Macquarie University was established on 1 January 2022 through the amalgamation of the Departments of Biological Sciences, Molecular Sciences, and Earth and Environmental Sciences. The School is the largest in the Faculty of Science and Engineering and is a vibrant community of educators, researchers and students working across a wide range of biological, biomolecular, biomedical, chemical, environmental and geoscience disciplines.

Selection Criteria:
A PhD in analytical biochemistry, biosensors, nanobiotechnology or equivalent qualifications;
Ability to undertake original experimental research, as evidenced by impactful and high-quality outputs.
Familiarity with isolation and analysis of extracellular vesicles, molecular biology, bioassay and bioanalysis;
Ability to foster a nurturing environment for research students including the provision of research student supervision.
Experience in project leadership, including in an interdisciplinary/multidisciplinary team, with the ability to design, conduct and analyse research project;
High quality interpersonal, oral and written communication skills to effectively engage with internal and external collaborators and the delivery of presentations to a range of audiences.
