• Casual classroom Assistants (Teacher’s Aides)
The Role
MUSEC School appoint an enthusiastic and highly organised Classroom Assistant to provide support in the delivery of education programs for primary aged students with a range of special needs in years K-6.
Key Responsibilities:
Supports the teaching and learning process which may include leading small groups/focus groups under the direction of the Classroom Teacher.
Reinforces appropriate behaviours and social skills in the classroom.
Assists the Classroom Teacher in implementing an individual program or individual subject outcomes.
Assists with providing students with the opportunity to develop personal, social and independent learning skills.
Assists with the creation of classroom resources and displays.
Supports in the preparation of practical work and resources for use in the classroom.
Maintains tidiness and cleanliness in the classroom; and within the school community
Ensures all students are treated as their number one priority.
About You
You will have:
Applicants must have high expectations for supporting students with special needs and be able to work collaboratively with colleagues.
Experience working with students with a disability.
A Senior First Aid Certificate.
A current WWCC number.
Strong IT/Computer skills including the use of PCs and iPads.
Able and willing to work as part of a school-wide team of professionals and is open to continued learning.
Participation in field trips/excursion, co-curricular activities and camps.
Great communication and engagement with your colleagues
A Certificate III or IV in Education Support.
Holding a Light Rigid Licence or willingness to drive a 12-seater school van.

The Learning Support Officer supports the teacher to deliver teaching and learning activities, support small group learning and develop resources.
