The Department of Medicine in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for a Evaluation & Measures Assistant. This Full-time Fixed Term position is for approximately 6 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.
The Evaluation & Measures Assistant, based in Calgary, will report to the Evaluation & Measures Lead. They will receive direction and support from Well Doc Alberta Leadership as well as Evaluation & Measures Specialist(s) and Associate(s) to support evaluation and measurement activities.
The position will require close collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders. It will also require discretionary decision making, professionalism, and comfort interacting with physicians and leaders, as it has the potential to impact the integrity, success, and reputation of the Well Doc Alberta initiative. The role works in an environment where there is ambiguity, continuous change, and shifting priorities. Peak periods during the year are stressful because of high volume, and the work requires management of competing interests with satisfactory outcomes for all involved.
Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):
- EVALUATION AND MEASUREMENT ACTIVITIES
- Takes direction from Well Doc Alberta Leadership, with supervision by the Evaluation & Measures Specialist(s) and Associate(s), to support the implementation and maintenance of a robust program evaluation framework
- Supports the development and maintenance of standardized tools and databases for recording various program metrics, education session evaluations, and physician wellness measurement
- Assists with collection and analysis of physician wellness measurement data
- Assists with collection and analysis of evaluation data for education sessions
- Assists with collection and analysis of programmatic metrics
- Enters, merges, and cleans data within various internal databases
- Ensures accurate data entry and database management, with consideration of data security and confidentiality
- Assists with analysis of quantitative and qualitative data and shares findings with Evaluation and Measures Specialist and/or Well Doc Alberta Leadership to enhance program effectiveness and support physician wellness measurement activities
- COMMUNICATIONS AND RELATIONSHIPS
- Effectively communicates relevant project information to Well Doc Alberta Leadership
- Effectively communicates relevant project information to external stakeholders, with guidance from the Evaluation and Measures Specialist and/or Measurement Coordinator
- Supports communication, coordination, collaboration, and knowledge translation activities related to evaluation and measurement
- Assists with operationalizing measurement socialization processes to facilitate strong response rates
- Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion
- EDUCATION AND EVENT PLANNING SUPPORT
- Assists Education, Communications, and Administration Manager and/or Education Coordinator in the execution of education sessions, as requested
- Assists Education, Communications, and Administration Manager and Well Doc Alberta team to effectively coordinate various events, as requested
- Uses data from evaluation activities to provide advice on how to improve education materials/resources and Well Doc Alberta events
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Bachelor degree, with a preference for training within a statistics or health-related field
- Previous experience working collaboratively with physicians from various disciplines
- At least 1 year of experience with diverse qualitative and quantitative research methods including survey design, recruitment, data collection, statistical analysis, and qualitative analysis
- Research expertise specific to physician populations is a strong asset
- Experience with knowledge dissemination activities such as developing and delivering presentations and generating effective reports
- Experience in database management and quality assurance
- Familiarity with online survey tools (e.g., Qualtrics) and statistical analysis programs (e.g., STATA) is considered a strong asset
- Familiarity with government, U of C, Industry and health sector stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Results-driven individual with a history of delivering high quality work
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Strong time management and organizational skills, with a track record of meeting commitments and deadlines
- A positive team player who is able to develop and foster strong working relationships with colleagues and external collaborators
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively with a large and diverse group of stakeholders such as senior University and AHS administrative staff, Division faculty and support staff, representatives of other programs and initiatives, and collaborating institution officials
- Resourceful, innovative, creative, strategic with the ability to bring forward ideas related to the evaluation and measurement activities of Well Doc Alberta
- Perception, initiative, good judgment, and concern for detail and accuracy
- Ability to receive direction, collaborate with others in setting goals, and work effectively to achieve Well Doc Alberta goals
- Ability to plan, problem-solve, and organize multiple tasks and priorities
