The Recruitment Team in the Office of the Registrar is currently seeking a Recurring Part-time Student Recruitment Assistant.
The Student Recruitment Team in Student and Enrolment Services supports the attraction of top undergraduate students from around the world through strategic marketing and recruitment initiatives, including the delivery of a series of events for prospective students, applicants, parents, counsellors, and other stakeholders. The Student Recruitment Team handles tens of thousands of inquiries pertaining to high school and transfer applications. Reporting to the Assistant Registrar, Student Recruitment and Applicant Relations this recurring part-time position serves to support the Student Recruitment Team in Student in the Office of the Registrar.
The business day for Enrolment services runs from 8:30 am thru 4:30 pm Monday-Friday. Shifts will typically range from 4-5 hours in duration up to a full 7 hour, Monday to Friday with the exception of statutory holidays and closures. Peak periods are August-September and January.
Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):
- Provides informational services (in groups, in person, on the phone, social media, via email) to prospective international students, families, and guidance counsellors.
- Presentations to varied audiences.
- Communicates information pertaining to the University of Calgary in an accurate, timely, and honest manner.
- Detailed Knowledge of the University of Calgary's programs, services, enrolment policies and procedures is ensured.
- Provides pre-admission advising and support of the admissions process to prospective international students and their families.
- Updating and maintaining international student, parent, counsellor, and institutional records in the Recruitment CRM.
- Assisting in the development of several mass e-mail and phone call campaigns to further Recruitment and Admission Objectives.
- Uploading prospective student leads into the CRM.
- Assisting with registration issues for prospective student events and campus tours.
- Assisting the Student Recruitment Team during peak times with ensuring recruitment trips and events, counsellor databases, and inventory are inputted into the CRM.
- Assisting the Student Recruitment Team during peak times with the distribution of recruitment materials.
- Supporting the mailout of physical materials to prospective international applicants.
- Assisting the Student Recruitment Assistant with the administration of the Campus Tours both in-person and virtually.
- Acts as a resource within other units of the Office of the Registrar.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in a related field. An undergraduate degree is preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the organizational structure of the University of Calgary with regard to such factors as location, student population and academic programs is considered an asset.
- Ability to manage change and demonstrate success in leading change initiatives.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with diverse groups of people.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, colleagues, school administrators, officials and representatives.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high pressure, team-based environment and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft or EzRecruit CRM would be an asset.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willing to work evenings and weekends as required.
