Position SummaryThe mission of The Arthur Ashe Student Health and Wellness Center (The Ashe Center) is to support UCLA students in the successful attainment of their educational goals through the personalized delivery of accessible, high-quality health and wellness services, rendered with kindness and competence, by diligent, dedicated professionals. Under the general supervision of The Ashe Center Specialty Assistant Medical Director and Club Sport Medical Director and with onsite direction by the Recreation Director of Athletic Training Services, the Athletic Trainer will provide high level evaluation, management and rehabilitation to UCLA club sport student-athletes. The Athletic Trainer will support the coordination of care of the club sport athletes between the Training Room and The Ashe Center. The Athletic Trainer will assist with the concussion management program for UCLA students and UCLA club sport student-athletes and in the sports medicine and orthopedic clinics at student health. Training services will include assisting with evaluation and treatment of injuries, designing and supervising rehabilitation programs, evening and weekend event side-line coverage and training room coverage. The Athletic Trainer will also be involved in training and education of staff and campus-wide collaboration to provide comprehensive care to UCLA students and UCLA club sport athletes.

Qualifications3-5 years Previous collegiate athletic training experience (Preferred) Working knowledge of anatomy, physiology and biomechanics as related to musculoskeletal athletic injuries of the peripheral joints and spine. (Required)Ability to perform clinical and sideline evaluation of injury, to design and implement basic treatment programs, to provide immediate management of injuries which occur on the practice field or during competition and maintain accurate and concise evaluations and treatment records. (Required)Working knowledge and basic skill in therapeutic exercise techniques and functional progression programs with the ability to operate therapeutic and exercise equipment. (Required)Ability to communicate with and maintain cooperative working relationships with medical staff, coaches, student-athletes, and outside vendors. (Required)Working knowledge and basic skill in the application of protective wraps, tape and bracing devices and experience with advanced manual therapy skills applicable to orthopedics and sports medicine. (Required)Working knowledge of common systemic illnesses and management which may interfere with athletic participation. (Required)Ability to work independently, prioritize, and complete tasks in a timely manner. (Required)Ability to meet multiple demands in a high-volume, fast-paced clinical environment. (Required)Working knowledge of commonly-used software, communication and collaboration tools, training and medical specific software (including electronic medical records) and ability to master new tools readily. (Required)Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion handling sensitive matters involving student-athletes or patients. (Required)Ability to work with a diverse population and in a diverse environment.
