Job Summary
The Associate Director of Academic Services’ primary focus is academic advising and services for Booth students. The Associate Director is the lead support for students in joint-degree programs at Chicago Booth. The Associate Director also provides support for students in Full-Time, Evening, and Weekend MBA programs at the downtown and Hyde Park campuses. This individual is responsible for developing and delivering analysis and support to ensure a successful program experience.
This position will have responsibilities at downtown Gleacher Center and the Harper Center in Hyde Park.
Responsibilities
- Advises students on course selection and planning to help inform and balance career and professional interests during their program of study.
- Oversees specialized academic support for joint-degree students as well as several other specialized areas.
- Educates and communicates with students about administrative and academic policies and requirements to ensure timely progression to degree.
- Develops and provides content support for academic advising in multiple formats used for onboarding new students and supporting current students.
- Develops and manages online advising tools including the Program of Study Tool, Slate, and Academic Services web pages.
- Provides support for students with approved disability accommodations including exam proctoring, advising, and intake interviews.
- Liaise between students and faculty as necessary.
- Completes special projects and performs additional duties for Academic Services as assigned.
- Manages on-boarding efforts related to coursework and academic planning delivered through various channels and on-line tools. Works mostly independently to facilitate graduation-related functions related to academic and degree requirements.
- Has a deep understanding related to the development of programming for non-academic matters, such as health and wellness and curricular programming. Designs and produces material for the handbook and other academically-related publications.
- Performs other related work as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
Work Experience:
Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 5-7 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Preferred Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Master’s degree in academically related field.
Experience:
- At least five years of experience managing responsibilities in higher education.
- Background in academic advising, including a strong understanding of the curriculum.

Working Conditions
- This position is currently expected to work a minimum three days per week in the office.
- Work occasional evening and weekend hours, including occasional Saturday rotations and Evening and Weekend student exam proctoring.
