Job Summary
The Associate Director, Student Life is responsible for student programming associated with the working professionals student community and oversees the coordination and administration of key programs. The Associate Director is expected to develop positive and active working relationships with internal and external constituents including, but not limited to, other Chicago Booth students, departments, and outside vendors.
Responsibilities
- Works closely with the Director to oversee and assist with the design and implementation of Chicago Booth’s incoming student orientations for our Evening and Weekend MBA Program, 4 per year.
- Advises, supports, and recommends concepts for programming to the leaders of career- focused, special interest, and social student groups.
- Assists with planning and implementation of a variety of student events and programs including, but not limited to, the student-alumni programming and student leader experience.
- Manages and oversees the student mentor program.
- Plays a lead role in key internal operational activities including, but not limited to, budgetary planning and reporting for orientation budget.
- Manages the relationship with outside vendor Booth Groups, student groups’ support with Booth Groups and enhanced system training for student leaders and advisors.
- Supports Working Professional Programs team with quarterly programming and events.
- Completes special projects and undertakes additional duties for Student Life as assigned.
- Guides students and staff to develop and implement activities, programs, and initiatives related to student life, and/or community involvement.
- Uses in-depth knowledge and experience to recommend concepts for programming to leaders of various organizations and programs.
- Performs other related work as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
Work Experience:
Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 5-7 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

- A minimum three years of experience working with students, planning extracurricular activities, or working in an educational environment.
- A minimum of three years of experience managing projects or programs.
- Bookkeeping or budget management experience.
Technical Skills or Knowledge:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

- Proven ability and commitment to working in a team environment.

Working Conditions
- This position is currently expected to work a minimum three days per week in the office.
- Work the regular schedule of 9:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with additional Saturday staffing for student life and student group events.
- Various other weekend and nights as needed, on average 3 nights/quarter and 3 Saturdays/quarter.
